Senior Biofinity MV Technician (C-Shift)

The Senior Biofinity MV Technician will be responsible for advanced technical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and providing support to shift technicians and operators in the manufacturing process of contact lenses.

Responsibilities
Possess strong knowledge of the use and operation of metrology and inspection equipment to obtain results of process and product performance
First point of contact for line breakdowns or intermittent problems
Monitors module performance and responds to alarms regularly
Assists with corrective and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment to meet and sustain established KPI’s
Notifies shift supervisor and BU Leader of any equipment failures or process performance events and assists with corrective action
Monitors system performance indicators (yields, up time, run rates) using statistical process control and advanced metrology equipment at the component level to assist with proactive process improvements
Adheres to current procedures for performing and documenting process changes, adjustments or tests which may include but are not limited to molds, tooling and equipment, to assure proper lens parameters are met
Participates in validation activities (Installation Quality (IQ)/Operation Quality (OQ)/Performance Quality (PQ) execution), improvement projects and procedural revisions
Partners with and promotes communication between supervisor, production team and other personnel to achieve desired goals and manufacturing targets
Completes or contributes to shift reports and turn over reports as applicable
As business needs dictate, works extended hours including scheduled holidays and mandatory overtime to complete daily department goals in order to maintain service levels for customers
Operates all line modules and supports production operators with day to day running when required
Assists with training of operators and technicians as required
Performs other duties as needed/assigned
Qualification
Required

Follows appropriate safety and equipment maintenance procedures
Exhibits good communication skills – verbal, written, and comprehension of the English language
Sound foundation in mathematical and mechanical principles
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to work through complex technical issues
Ability to read, understand, and train within the scope of an SOP
Good understanding of and compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), regulatory requirements, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's)
Demonstrates qualities that show an interest and competency level for future advancement
Good understanding of data analytics to drive manufacturing performance
Requires full understanding of Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, cGMP's, and the consequences of not following them
Minimum 3 years' experience in a cast/injection molding technician or lathing technician role(s). Contact lens manufacturing experience required
Preferred
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems in question (pneumatic, electronic, hydraulic) preferred
High School diploma or GED preferred
Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics and/or Electro-mechanic, or equivalent experience with an automated and injection molding processes preferred
