Casting Process Engineer- Cores and Casting
GE Vernova is seeking a Casting Process Engineer to oversee the execution of critical casting processes for advanced gas turbine blades. The role involves ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing processes while actively participating in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Assure that all equipment are operating as designed, including all safety features. Assure operators are trained in all equipment safety features and for all processes. Contribute to Management of Change, Safety Risk Assessments and LOTO on all new equipment
Establish process controls to reduce process excursions via data analysis. Perform engineering trials to evaluate process improvement and to implement fixtures/jigs/tooling. Responsible for the good functioning and standardization of processes
Define/update/revise work instructions and procedures required to assure operators perform tasks consistently. Perform periodic audits. Work with QA and Product Engineers to implement customer requirements. Develop PFMEA and MCP for processes owned
Responsible for all 3D Design and machine programming used for all our wax machines
Daily monitoring of processes, drive, lead or participate in process improvement initiatives and/or problem-solving teams to maintain budgeted FPY. Participate in new part introduction teams as needed
Intensive participation in cost reduction effort and reduction of scrap via rigorous investigation and problem solving
Ensure PM are done on time for the equipment owned and help with the diagnostic of machine failure. Lead maintenance initiatives to reach budgeted OA
Daily interface with manufacturing, management, and product team. Establish operator skill levels to assure depth and breadth of skills. Create a skills assessment tool
This position involves a "hands-on" approach with consistent presence on the production floor, during Genba walks and a daily check-in with operators, maintenance, and leaders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or technical field/related area or equivalent to 4 years of related work experience
Minimum of 2 years in production manufacturing or process control
This position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady plant and 1st shift
Must be currently legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
2+ years of experience with new product design and/or casting experience
Demonstrated track record of success in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, and highly competitive environment
Personality and drive to execute in challenging and fulfilling manufacturing environment that operates under tight timelines and aggressive schedules
Demonstrated written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to convey concepts within all levels of our organization
Strong academic foundation coupled with hands on experience
Experience with statistical and process improvement tools: 6-sigma, Minitab, SPC etc
Demonstrated capability to handle multiple tasks or projects and to develop/lead an action plan
Demonstrated ability to lead projects
