Intern - Financial Business Analyst, RBU
Publix Pharmacy is committed to developing their associates through their Summer Internship Program. The role involves providing analytical support and reporting for Retail Business Units, assisting in decision-making through financial analysis and the development of analytical solutions.
Retail
Responsibilities
Supporting Corporate Purchasing departments, called Retail Business Units (RBUs), on tactical projects, requests, and other analytical needs
Producing, maintaining and enhancing the financial and operational reports routinely used by RBUs and corporate leadership
Developing analytical solutions through the utilization of databases, queries, data visualization tools and worksheets for capturing and reporting useful information to enable fact-based decision-making
Providing analytical and consultative business services, both individually and through cross-functional teams, supporting RBU projects and strategic initiatives
Preparing and summarizing conclusions for various ad-hoc requests to support RBU management in answering business questions outside the scope of business initiatives
Providing updates on significant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Strategic Business Units (SBUs), as well as economic performance for Publix operating areas
Participating on cross-functional team meetings and/or meetings with RBU customers and Publix leaders
Qualification
Required
must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or
if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or
if graduating from a master's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester
must be pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in finance, accounting, business administration, analytics, information technology, statistics and be a current sophomore or above (rising junior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
completed coursework in one or more of the following classes: Basic Accounting Principles, Introduction to Finance, Introduction to Statistics and/or Introduction to Economics
ability to work independently, be self-motivated, take responsibility for learning new skills and processes, practice good time management, problem solve and identify discrepancies, producing work free of errors
enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work
basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred
advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
basic knowledge of Alteryx, Power Query or similar Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tool
basic knowledge of Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualization tool
sound financial and business acumen
knowledge of the Publix retail store environment and operations
