Responsibilities
Maintains assigned equipment; completes minor repairs; washes and greases equipment
Inspects equipment before use
Transports equipment to job sites
Ensures that work sites are compliant with safety guidelines.Informs surrounding residents of work in progress
Operates jackhammer, backhoe, excavator, and hand tools to excavate water lines
Operates the stepping machine
Digs trenches
Measures and cuts stubbing and wire
Excavates and cleans meter boxes
Repairs the line and main breaks
Assists in the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire hydrants
Operates backhoe
Transports equipment to job sites
Maintains, inspects, and operates various hand and power tools and small equipment
Sets up traffic control devices around work sites
Loads construction debris onto trucks
Moves dirt, gravel, rock, sand, and other heavy materials
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two (2) years of medium equipment operation and maintenance experience
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment
