Responsibilities
Prepare the courtroom for hearings, receive and mark exhibits, maintain witness lists, calendaring hearings, and preparing and distributing court paperwork
Take detailed log notes and ensure a clear and accurate audio recording of the hearing is produced
Handle a wide range of legal documents such as complaints, citations, indictments, petitions to revoke probation, dismissals, and motions
Review documents for proper form, calendar cases based on party requests, and prepare and distribute official court orders
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college
Post-secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications
Copies of your most recent (2) performance evaluations or two (2) letters of recommendation
A list of three (3) professional references who have had supervisory authority over you along with their daytime contact phone numbers and email addresses
