NDT Inspector 3rd shift (Onsite) LG 4
Pratt & Whitney is transforming the future of flight and is seeking an NDT Inspector for their 3rd shift. The role involves performing metallurgical and non-destructive inspections on aircraft components, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and supporting continuous improvement while progressing through NDT certification levels.

Responsibilities
Perform non-destructive inspections using methods such as Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI), Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, and Eddy Current, based on qualifications and certification level
Clean, process, and inspect aircraft components in accordance with customer specifications, airworthiness directives, FAA/JAA requirements, manufacturer CMMs, and internal operating procedures
Set up/calibrate, operate, monitor, and adjust NDT equipment and process media to ensure valid and repeatable inspection results
Interpret inspection results, identify structural or material defects, document findings, and complete required inspection records and test reports
Maintain proper segregation, identification, and traceability of components throughout the inspection process
Perform routine equipment servicing, preventive maintenance, and inspections using established checklists and procedures; identify equipment issues requiring repair or replacement
Identify recurring inspection or processing issues and recommend improvements to methods, processes, or equipment
Work from detailed procedures, technique sheets, blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions; interpret engineering data and provide guidance to cross-functional teams
Perform in-line checks, dimensional verification, and inspections using fixed, variable, and automated measuring instruments
Conduct Solumina-required job audits, OpCert surveillance activities, and over-inspections, as required
Assist with new equipment introduction, process tryouts, and specialized assignments within job scope
Collaborate closely with operations, quality, and engineering teams; provide technical support and maintain strong working relationships
Certified Level II inspectors are responsible for training Level I personnel and trainees in equipment setup, processing, and inspection techniques
Maintain required licenses, operator permits, and NDT certifications, including Level I or Level II, as applicable
Refer technical or process issues to supervisors or leaders as appropriate
Perform additional duties within scope to support department objectives and skill development
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Level II Certification in at least one NDT method (FPI, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current)
Ability to obtain and maintain NDT inspection certification upon completion of training
Familiarity with manufacturing tools, inspection equipment, blueprints, and gauges
Familiarity with inspection gauges and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
