Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain SQL Server Replication (Transactional/Peer-to-Peer)
Design, configure, and maintain SQL Server Scheduled Jobs
Support SQL Server Code and Development
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for database migration, validation, and automation
Convert and optimize stored procedures, views, triggers, and schema from Sybase to SQL Server
Manage code promotion and deployment across DEV, QA, and PROD environments, including build packaging and release validation
Coordinate production release readiness: permissions, rollback plans, and pre-deployment validation
Monitor and optimize SQL Server performance pre- and post-migration
Support issue resolution during post-deployment stabilization
Ensure data consistency and support defect resolution cycles with testing teams
Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless cutover

Required

5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
Expertise in SQL Server Replication
Strong command of T-SQL and performance tuning
Solid experience with PowerShell scripting
Hands-on experience with production deployment, release planning, and environment promotion
Familiarity with lift-and-shift migrations or modernization projects
Knowledge of SQL Server Agent, backup strategies, and alerting mechanisms

Preferred

Experience with Sybase ASE, PowerBuilder, or similar legacy environments
Exposure to Ispirer, BCP, linked servers, and LOB/BLOB data migration
Strong understanding of release governance, audit trails, and access control
