Pharmacy Data Entry Training Technician
Knipper Health is seeking a Pharmacy Data Entry Training Technician responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering training for the Pharmacy Data Entry team. The role focuses on pharmacy benefit manager claims adjudication and ensuring compliance with operational workflows through effective training and support.

Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and deliver onboarding and ongoing training for pharmacy data entry technicians, including workflow best practices, quality standards, and productivity expectations
Serve as a subject matter expert and trainer for PBM claims adjudication, including interpreting payer messaging and resolving common rejections (e.g., coordination of benefits, refill too soon, quantity limits, DUR, prior authorization requirements, and plan limitations)
Train and reinforce audit readiness practices, including complete and consistent documentation, SOP adherence, record retention expectations, and preparation of evidence for internal and external audits
Provide training on manufacturer and client program requirements (e.g., patient support programs, bridge/quick start processes, copay assistance, and other program-specific documentation) to ensure accurate processing and compliance
Deliver systems training and user support for the pharmacy management system (PMS), inventory systems, and related tools; assist with new feature rollouts and workflow updates
Partner with Pharmacy Data Entry leadership, Pharmacists, Quality, Compliance, and Operations to identify training needs based on error trends, audit findings, policy changes, and operational priorities
Conduct and document competency assessments (skills checklists, observations, and targeted quality reviews) for new hires and tenured staff; recommend coaching plans and follow-up activities
Provide one-on-one coaching and remediation for technicians to improve accuracy, documentation, and adjudication performance; escalate recurring concerns per established processes
Create and maintain training materials (SOPs, job aids, quick reference guides, tip sheets, and presentations) with appropriate version control and accessibility
Support change management by communicating process changes, delivering refresher training, and monitoring adoption to ensure consistent execution across shifts
Maintain training records, completion tracking, and supporting documentation in alignment with audit and regulatory requirements
Participate in process improvement initiatives to reduce rework, prevent order delays, and improve the end-to-end data entry and adjudication experience
Maintain operational proficiency by performing data entry and/or claims adjudication tasks as needed to stay current and support coverage during peak volumes
Follow HIPAA and privacy law guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and model professionalism while promoting a culture of quality, safety, and continuous learning
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Kentucky Pharmacy Technician Registration (active and in good standing) preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting prescription order entry and PBM claims adjudication in a specialty and/or high-volume pharmacy environment
Demonstrated ability to train, coach, or mentor peers; strong computer proficiency including the pharmacy management system (PMS), inventory systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (PTCB certification preferred)
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and other pharmacy-specific terminology) brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminology
Strong understanding of PBM claims adjudication workflows, payer messaging, and common rejection resolution
Working knowledge of client and manufacturer program requirements, including required data elements and documentation expectations
Strong understanding of audit readiness, documentation practices, and the importance of SOP adherence in a regulated pharmacy environment
Demonstrated ability to teach and coach adult learners, facilitate group training, and provide constructive, actionable feedback
Ability to develop clear, user-friendly training materials (SOPs, job aids, and presentations) and maintain version control
Advanced computer literacy to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, communication and collaboration tools, and Adobe PDF or comparable
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and rapport across teams
Excellent problem-solving, organization, and time management skills
Attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle differences in names and numbers
Ability to work independently with little supervision, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners

Kentucky Pharmacy Technician Registration (active and in good standing) preferred
Experience developing training materials and/or delivering structured training for PBM claims adjudication, audit readiness, and manufacturer program workflows; quality auditing or compliance support experience preferred
