New Grad, Entry LevelBinder Park Zoo is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their team for the 2026 season as Education Interpreters. The role involves leading educational programs, guiding tours, and interacting with zoo guests to promote wildlife conservation and education.

Responsibilities
Teaching overnight Education programs to large groups of various ages
Leading children ages 6-12 in day camp activities, including games, crafts, and nature walks
Guiding tour groups on experiences behind the scenes and front of scenes
Conducting informal interpretive interactions with zoo visitors
Assisting with Education programs for school groups, donor groups, etc., including on-grounds and outreach programs and events as assigned
Planning, organizing, and making independent decisions as necessary
Working with interns, volunteers and other interpreters
Working independently handling small to medium sized exotic and Michigan native animals
Communicating using hand held radios
Relate positively with diverse groups of people, including guests, staff, volunteers and vendors
Assisting with other programs as needed
Complying with all Binder Park Zoo policies and procedures
Participating in team-oriented zoo projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Proof of negative TB test within one year and proof of TDAP vaccine within ten years
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous work experience with children
Preferred
Completion of or coursework leading toward a Bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, education, childhood development, outdoor recreation, or related field
