Responsibilities
Perform Quality Assurance (QA) testing across the client tax lifecycle, including:
IRS Forms W-8 / W-9 documentation
Determination of withholding type and rate
Validation of 1099 and 1042 regulatory reporting
Execute QA reviews on both institutional and retail client accounts
Perform testing on defined subsets of accounts using standardized QA checklists
Reconcile client transactional activity and withholding against year-end tax forms (1099 / 1042)
Identify exceptions, control gaps, and process weaknesses, and escalate findings as appropriate
Support enhancements to tax compliance controls and QA methodologies
Participate in strategic initiatives, including process improvement and automation efforts
Partner with Client Tax Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders to support ongoing compliance objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
1–3 years of Financial Services experience, preferably within Operations Tax or Client Tax Operations
Working knowledge of IRS Chapter 3 (NRA withholding)
Working knowledge of IRS Chapter 4 (FATCA)
Working knowledge of IRS Chapter 61 (Backup Withholding)
Strong understanding of 1099 and 1042 reporting frameworks
Proven analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret tax rules and apply them to client scenarios
High attention to detail, particularly in documentation validation, QA testing, and reconciliation activities
Experience managing manual and automated control processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills with sound judgment and problem-solving ability
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred
Familiarity with CRS and/or Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) client tax requirements is a plus
Experience with Alteryx and/or Power BI is a plus
