Emergency Communications Dispatcher
GovFirst is currently seeking experienced and certified Emergency Communications Dispatch professionals to support emergency communications operations in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This role is critical to ensuring continuity of emergency services and public safety operations, requiring dispatchers to perform essential duties with minimal supervision while maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities
Receive and process 9-1-1, non-emergency, and administrative calls
Accurately enter call information into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
Dispatch police, fire, EMS, or other assigned disciplines
Monitor radio and communication systems to ensure timely response
Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and public safety standards
Maintain professional, courteous, and ethical conduct always
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
U.S. Citizen
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams
Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding or training
Strong communication, multitasking, and decision-making skills
Must be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
Must be dependable and punctual due to the mission-critical nature of emergency communications
Working knowledge of one or more of the following systems (or equivalent): Tyler CAD, L3 Harris Symphony Radio Consoles, Vesta Call Handling Equipment, RapidSOS software
Preferred
IAED Certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Fire Dispatch, Police Dispatch and/or EMS Dispatch
