Strategy Business Partner

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a Strategy Business Partner to serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership. Responsibilities

Develop analytical frameworks to improve shrink metrics and operational performance indicators across the business
Conduct advanced business and environmental analyses, incorporating economic trends, competitive insights, and market conditions to inform long-term strategic planning
Design and maintain executive-level dashboards using advanced data visualization platforms to present complex data in compelling, actionable formats
Perform ROI and scenario modeling for process improvements and technology investments
Audit reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment
Partner with operational and functional leaders to integrate data across systems, including inventory platforms, HRIS, and finance systems to produce holistic business intelligence
Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address emerging issues, risks, or strategic questions
Use captivating data visualizations to create high-impact executive-level presentations that connect analysis to decisions, tradeoffs, and recommended actions
Develop multimedia content such as executive briefings, strategic communications, and training materials in collaboration with the LMS team
Present strategic insights to C-suite executives, Board members, and senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and composure
Represent the EVP/Chief Business Officer in select meetings and strategic forums as delegated
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, persuasive insights through executive summaries, white papers, and strategic briefs that support informed leadership decision-making
Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging technologies, tools, and business intelligence platforms
Serve as a point of contact for technology vendors, integrators, and strategic partners to support analytic functions
Drive digital transformation initiatives to reduce shrink and improve operational efficiency
Maintain awareness of industry innovations, emerging threats, and best practices
Lead company-level projects from concept through execution, ensuring timely, accurate, and successful delivery
Create project plans, define resource requirements, and establish risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate teams across operations, finance, IT, HR, and legal to advance strategic objectives
Partner with operational leadership to design and implement robust shrink reduction and loss prevention strategies
Analyze shrink patterns, theft incidents, and operational risks to identify root causes and recommend interventions
Collaborate with internal or external investigators, law enforcement, and legal teams on sensitive matters when appropriate
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Serve as a trusted advisor to the EVP/Chief Business Officer, handling sensitive matters with absolute discretion
Prepare briefing packets, agendas, and follow-up materials for leadership and Board-level meetings
Manage communication flow between the executive office and internal/external stakeholders with professionalism and timeliness
Proactively anticipate leadership needs and act as an effective extension of executive decision-making
Provide refined executive support, including calendar management, coordination of meetings, travel arrangements, and preparation of high-quality correspondence
Partner with regional and functional leaders to support company-wide operational and strategic goals
Facilitate planning sessions, leadership discussions, and cross-functional collaboration
Provide coaching and guidance on operational excellence, performance insights, and strategic enablement
Support change management efforts and guide teams through process improvements and organizational transitions
Cultivate strong relationships across all levels of the organization
Support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Conduct risk assessments and recommend updates to protocols, policies, and procedures
Contributes to annual strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation efforts
Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to maintain compliance and competitiveness
Support all current and future corporate initiatives and programs
Perform additional strategic duties as assigned to meet organizational objectives

Required

Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Risk Management, or related field strongly preferred
3–5 years of progressive experience in business analysis or strategic operations
2–3 years working directly with C-suite or senior executive leadership
Proven expertise in analytics, business intelligence, and strategic planning
Proven ability to deliver executive-level presentations
Strong background in project management for complex, company-wide initiatives
Ability to obtain required security clearances

Advanced proficiency in analytics, ETL, statistical methods, and business intelligence practices

Experience in managerial accounting and corporate finance; able to interpret financials and partner on forecasts and budgeting
Ability to create polished, executive-level presentations using PowerPoint and graphic design tools
Strategic thinking with ability to interpret trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics
Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with proven ability to support and influence senior leadership
Strong project management capability with experience in large, cross-functional initiatives
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to make sound, data-informed decisions independently
Rapid learner with aptitude for mastering new technologies and analytical tools
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Basic understanding of Spanish language
Advanced analytics and visualization capabilities; proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel
Expert-level Excel skills (advanced formulas, DAX, Power Query, dashboards)
