VERSANT is a leading force in news, sports and entertainment, and they are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their FinTech Engineering organization. This role is focused on ensuring the quality, stability, and scalability of their systems with an emphasis on automation and API testing.

Responsibilities

Own and expand automation strategy with a focus on API automation (PyTest) and UI automation (Functionize)
Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test suites
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define acceptance criteria and identify risk early
Perform hands-on automated and exploratory testing of complex workflows
Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution efforts
Champion consistent testing patterns and best practices
Validate data integrity across databases and background processes
Maintain and improve technical documentation
Mentor QA engineers and help raise automation maturity across teams

Required

5+ years of QA experience with a strong automation focus
Experience building and maintaining API automation frameworks (PyTest preferred)
Experience with UI automation tools (Functionize preferred)
CI/CD pipeline integration experience (GitHub Actions preferred)
Experience testing REST APIs and databases
Strong documentation and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
