Responsibilities
Planning, directing, and overseeing the City’s Fleet Services Division, including vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, fleet acquisition and disposition, and fueling and motor pool operations
Operating with a high level of independence under limited supervision from the Public Works Operations Manager
Reporting on major activities, initiatives, and operational performance through periodic meetings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Public Administration or a closely related field of study from an accredited college or university
Five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience working in fleet management, maintenance and operations, or closely related field
Three (3) years of full-time equivalent supervisory experience
One (1) year of experience in developing budgets and managing various types of equipment and building assets
Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria
This position is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy
Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion
Must have a strong knowledge of fleet maintenance and management of various types of equipment and building assets
Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
