Responsibilities

Provide technical support of weld and materials joining processes of current production lines, new installation projects, qualification, and procedure development for manufacturing
Develop and qualify welds of various metals using NDT and DT methods to analyze and improve processes
Provide expertise for GTAW manual and automated welding as well as weld preparation processes
Advise direction for material joining processes rework and repair as part of Material Review Board (MRB responsibility)
Evaluate and implement solutions for equipment design, tooling, fixtures, procedures, manpower, personnel, or training for process improvement
Establish and implement quality control objectives, activities or procedures to resolve production problems, optimize product reliability or minimize costs
Review and provide analytical input to documents and procedures to support studies pertaining to production improvement, cost savings, inventory control and data collection systems
Provide expertise for vacuum, resistance, torch, hydrogen furnace and other brazing processes
Lead change management for processes such as welding, brazing, chemical processing or other weld preparation
Support the GTAW welding process adherence for NADCAP and or other audit requirements
Provide support for chemical processing of welded or production products

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 3 years experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Welding or material joining experience

Preferred

Formal degree or certification in weld engineering
Experience with AWS D17.1 codes and standards
GTAW and or Laser welding specific certification or formal training
NDT technology degree or certification
NADCAP prior experience
CAD / 3D Modeling
SAP experience
