Technical Specialist

Responsibilities
Lead the Ford Racing team in successful completion of high leverage DMIAC/DCOV projects within all functional teams and all Ford Racing Production Vehicle programs. Projects will include launch issues and current model quality issues
Lead, support and assign team resources to support Launch metrics (Safety, DV, AIMS/ JIRA, timing, and cost)
Lead, support and assign team resources to improve Quality metrics (Safety, QNPS, R/1000, Warranty Spend and CPU)
Lead and support new technology, product design and problem solving cross-functional teams to leverage the DCOV/DFSS process in failure mode avoidance and robust design methods
Provide the Ford Racing Production Vehicle organization statistical and problem solving support including assisting with 6-Sigma methodology training and specific tool training (3x5 Why, Is/Is Not, Fishbone, 8D within JIRA/SIMPSN, etc)
Deliver project presentations to senior management on project progress, accomplishments, conclusions, and lessons learned
Work with GDI&A (Global Data Insights and Analytics) in refining tools including connected vehicle data to improve Ford Racing problem solving, either in problem definition or clock speed
Drive Six Sigma Certifications throughout Ford Racing Production Vehicle team
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Engineering required
6-Sigma Black Belt certification required
Minimum of 5 years experience in Product Design or Manufacturing Engineering with manufacturing processes, component/system development design, emerging technology development or calibration processes knowledge
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several unique tasks simultaneously
Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as present from working level documents
Ability to comfortably present to the senior management team
Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations
Preferred
Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications, Minitab, Qlik Sense and Alteryx computer software preferred
Engineering Master's Degree
People Leader Experience
6-Sigma Master Black Belt trained preferred but not required. If not a Certified 6-Sigma Master Black Belt Ford Racing will facilitate achieving Master Black Belt certification within 1 year
