Responsibilities

Perform geometric reviews for complex roadway projects, including interchanges, intersections, and freeways
Evaluate design exception submittals and assist submitters through the formal approval process
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Multimodal Design Guide, ensuring standards remain current
Participate in value engineering workshops and collaborate on the development of workshop materials
Assist with the ongoing updates of the Location and Design Manual, Volume 1, and other roadway standards
Review and approve consultant prequalification submissions for Non-Complex and Complex Roadway Design

Required

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643
If assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license
Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects
Or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions)
If assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration
