Network Specialist
CalPERS, the nation’s largest public pension fund, is seeking a highly qualified Information Technology Specialist to join their Network Administration Unit. The Network Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance and operation tasks, assisting with network architecture, engineering, and administration within the Data Center.

Responsibilities
Work with other Network Specialists and Network Associates, as well as Telecommunications Engineers in the Network Engineering Unit
Demonstrate proficiency with data/voice networking components
Work on day-to-day maintenance, operation tasks, and assist with network Architecture, Engineering, Administration, or Data Center tasks as needed

The SOQ must be typed, titled 'Statement of Qualifications,' and each response must be numbered and list all relevant experience, education, and training, including places of employment, dates, and duties performed
The SOQ must not exceed two pages in length and must have 11 point, Calibri font
Please describe your education or experience with networking or network related technologies
Please describe your experience with network performance and monitoring tools and how they are used
Please describe your experience with firewall rules and policies
All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position
If you are using education to meet MQs, please include your transcripts with your application package
If you have a degree from outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of this degree to determine the US equivalency
You may need to pass an examination to establish list eligibility prior to a final offer of employment
