Responsibilities
The Pioneers Home Administrator is the responsible authority for the overall operation, administration, and maintenance of the assisted living, long-term care Pioneer Home that is operated by the State of Alaska
Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college
Two years of experience supervising professional and assistive staff in any combination of health service program, such as a residential care facility, home health care service, hospital, doctor's office; social casework; and/or public or business administration
Eligibility for certification as a Level 1 Administrator from the Senior Living University, Assisted Living Administrator from the American College of Healthcare Administrators, or an equivalent health care administration certification program
21 years of age or older at time of application, per 7 AAC 75.230
Two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information
Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening
Provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date
Provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available

Healthcare Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, patient care standards, and medical procedures relevant to Assisted Living and Pioneer Homes

Problem-Solving Abilities: Proactively identifying issues and implementing practical solutions, often under time constraints
Empathy and Compassion: Genuine concern for the well-being of residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met
Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure financial stability of the division
Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing Pioneer Homes, always ensuring compliance
Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing multiple tasks, from scheduling staff shifts to maintaining records and overseeing daily operations
Interpersonal Skills: Building solid relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners to create a supportive community
Visionary: A strategic thinker who can anticipate future challenges and opportunities and plan accordingly to improve the facility's services
Crisis Management: Ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies, providing clear direction and support
