Engineering Manager, Platform Software

They are seeking an Engineering Manager for the Platform Software section to provide leadership for a team, manage product line direction, and ensure the delivery of software for electronic control modules across Caterpillar's product lines.

Responsibilities
Leadership of the Platform Software section
Provide people leadership, drive career development, and act as a mentor for a diverse multi-functional team
Lead the global work group to meet clients’ objectives for delivery of FPGA & Platform Software
Collaborate with and communicate results to the Machine & Engine Systems teams
Work with members of the Senior Technology Leadership Forum (STLF) to prioritize information related projects that will benefit the Caterpillar enterprise
Work with Cat Electronics Chief Engineers, Tech Stewards, clients, and process partners to develop roadmaps and strategies for Platform Software
Manage staffing and delivery execution across numerous ECM platforms in alignment with sponsor affordability
Qualification
Required
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace
Collaborating Globally: Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results
Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
Customer/Market Focus: Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum
15+ years of engineering experience, in roles of increasing responsibility
Electronics systems, hardware, or software development experience
Experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
Supervisory and global team leadership experience
Demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills
