Events Intern
Detroit Zoological Society is seeking an Events Intern to assist in their Events department. The intern will gain hands-on experience in event planning and execution while supporting the Event Managers and Coordinators in various tasks related to public and private events.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing event concepts and themes
Assist with coordination and execution of event logistics (e.g. banquet event orders, talent, vendors, etc.)
Assist with event timeline details including timing for promotional materials, date logos need to be received from sponsors, date promotional materials will be displayed, dates event talent/activities need to be confirmed, etc
Assist with set up and tear down of events
Meet customers at the start of their event and serve as point of contact for any needs that may arise
Participate in DZS activities, meetings and events as required
All other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the Event Managers
Qualification
Required
Must be a college student enrolled in a relevant degree program
Interest in actively learning about event planning and development
Ability to multitask and use creativity to develop new event concepts
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Outgoing and friendly personality who enjoys working with people
Work with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work well as a team member or independently
