Senior Accounting Clerk (Hybrid)

The Senior Accounting Clerk position is responsible for assisting with various accounting activities, including general ledger monthly close-out and daily accounting duties.

Responsibilities
Supports accounting staff with month-end close activities, including the preparation and input of journal entries
Assists with the reconciliation of general ledger and cash accounts
Assists in the analysis of financial information
Maintains and organizes physical accounting records
Assists the secretary in the coordination of office tasks
Special projects, as needed
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff

Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) to three (3) years of accounting related experience
Proficient PC skills and calculator by touch
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred
Accounting clerk experience highly preferred
Healthcare data entry experience highly preferred
Experience with Microsoft Excel
