Responsibilities
Creating new standards and significantly updating outdated ones, including:
Transmission underground standards (e.g., potheads, riser structures, pole head configurations)
Integration of new materials and technologies (e.g., high temperature/low sag conductors, lightweight steel poles)
Updating standard drawings, configurations, and associated compatible units (material kits used broadly in the field)
This role has a strong transmission engineering standards focus, specifically addressing a temporary coverage need for a senior transmission standards engineer
Must have hands-on experience developing and authoring transmission engineering standards, not just following or applying existing standards
Practical transmission design experience is strongly preferred, as it directly supports the ability to write effective, buildable standards
AutoCAD experience is preferred for modifying standards drawings
