APPLICATION ANALYST IT - Level I

Methodist Hospitals is seeking an Application Analyst IT - Level I to develop, analyze, maintain, and implement the EPIC EMR system software within their Healthcare Organization. The role involves analyzing system change requests, ensuring quality integration across applications, and providing training and support for users.

Responsibilities

Analyze and prioritize requests for system changes/enhancements, including requirements gathering. Identify potential problem areas and recommend processes and/or system improvements
Assures proper change control and documentation for upgrades and system modifications. This includes documentation of actions in release notes and coordination with other teams as necessary
Effectively works as a team member to ensure quality of integration across system applications. This includes working with vendors/third party entities that need to be integrated with the Epic product
Ensure programs and related components are continuously reliable, available and function as required
Investigate user problems and needs, identify their source, determine/implement solutions and document resolutions for future reference. This includes working on multiple-disciplinary teams to develop solutions
Document system and business requirements. Create test plans and scripts for system and user acceptance testing. Assist with and document the development of new operational procedures
Participate in the development, implementation and testing of application software, specifically those that interact with the Epic system
Provide guidance and support for ongoing training. Participate in the development and implementation of training materials

Required

Associates degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field Required
Must achieve EPIC proficiency within the first six (6) months of hire date
Knowledge of hardware and software applications
Must be highly motivated and exhibit the interpersonal skills necessary to achieve results through coordinating efforts with others in a collaborative manner
Ability to mentor, trains, and teach others
Must be able to deal with stressful situations effectively
Demonstrates courteous, kind, caring, and compassionate behavior and projects a positive attitude to support organization
Investigate user problems and needs, identify their source, and determine possible solutions and documents resolutions for future reference

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field Preferred
1 year experience in Healthcare Informatics preferred
Prior experience or proficiency with EPIC application software is preferred
