Laboratory Research Technician IV
The University of Pittsburgh, Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute is seeking a qualified Laboratory Research Technician. The incumbent will perform a variety of independent and complex laboratory work including handling human blood and serum, analyzing data, and preparing reports.

Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments
Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports
Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs
Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations
Handling human blood serum and urine, sterile techniques, lymphocyte purification, freezing/thawing cells, and flow cytometry
T cell functional assays and molecular biology techniques (i.e. RNA purification)
Identify/troubleshoot technical problems, optimize protocols, and maintain daily miscellaneous tasks in the lab
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
3 years of experience
Excellent computer skills
Ability to collect and organize results in a complex database
Highly motivated and detail oriented
Sound judgement
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Handling human blood, serum and urine
Sterile techniques
Lymphocyte purification
Freezing/thawing cells
Flow cytometry
T cell functional assays
Molecular biology techniques (i.e. RNA purification)
