Responsibilities

Define and execute the multi-year product strategy for Stripe’s core payments data model, ensuring it can scale for the next decade of Stripe’s growth
Own the product lifecycle for Stripe's core Payment Record objects. You will be responsible for the API, data consistency, and reliability of the platform that serves as the source of truth for all payments
Be the internal champion and product owner for the many teams that build on top of the Payment Records Platform. You will own the internal developer experience and ensure our platform is scalable, extensible, and easy to use
Obsess over the details of our platform's reliability, consistency, and performance. You will ensure the systems we build are trusted by the world's largest businesses for their most critical payment flows
Deeply understand the payment reconciliation, reporting, and data-handling needs of Stripe’s largest enterprise users to ensure our foundational data models can support them at scale
Partner closely with engineering, legal, and other product teams to ensure the Payment Records Platform is a robust and seamless foundation for the entire Stripe ecosystem

Required

5+ years of experience in a product role, ideally working on API-focused products
An obsession over product quality, specifically an intuition for high-performing, ergonomic and long-lasting API design
Strong API taste – you should know what makes a great developer experience and be a driver of good API design decisions, down to individual parameter naming
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of user problems
An ownership mindset and works on whatever it takes to solve problems and delight users
Can dig deep into the data, think from first principles, and deliver the right results

Preferred

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Proven track record of delivering robust software solutions at scale
Ability to understand complex engineering concepts on a deep technical level
Experience working on financial products
