$30/hr - $32/hrThe Fountain Group is currently seeking a Legal Invoice Analyst for a prominent client of ours. This role focuses on reviewing, auditing, and validating legal fee and expense invoices submitted electronically by law firms and vendors on behalf of clients.

Responsibilities
Conduct expert peer reviews of Legal Invoice Analysts’ work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client billing guidelines
Independently analyze legal invoices to understand the full legal context, terminology, and underlying legal work performed
Validate compliance with client-specific legal billing guidelines
Verify correct application of UTBMS task, activity, and expense codes
Make additional invoice line-item adjustments when necessary and clearly document justification, including billing guideline references and rationale
Correct both adjusted and non-adjusted invoice lines as appropriate
Advance reviewed invoices through the established approval workflow
Serve as a member of the Appeals Team, handling requests for reconsideration from law firms
Engage in professional, written expert-to-expert communication with law firm vendors regarding disputed invoice adjustments
Apply legal judgment and subject-matter expertise to resolve appeals in alignment with client directives
Extract and analyze core legal concepts relevant to invoice disputes
Document appeals discussions and outcomes in clear written summaries for client review or resolution conferences
Support appeals mediation efforts by providing legal insight and analysis
Provide guidance to internal business partners on issues, trends, and improvement opportunities within the Legal Bill Analysis process
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school or
Master of Laws (LLM) (U.S. or foreign-trained candidates welcome, where applicable)
Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
Ability to interpret legal billing guidelines and apply them accurately
High attention to detail with sound professional judgment
Strong written communication skills for external law firm correspondence
Preferred
Exposure to law firm billing, legal operations, or invoice review
Familiarity with UTBMS codes
Experience reviewing legal invoices or working in a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal services environment
