Mechanical Engineer- Thermal
Amphenol Communications Solutions is a leader in interconnect solutions for various electronics markets. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Thermal to perform thermal simulations, design thermal solutions, and collaborate with engineers to integrate these solutions into product designs.

Responsibilities
Perform thermal simulations and analyses (steady-state and transient) using tools such as ANSYS Icepak, FloTHERM
Design and optimize thermal solutions including heat sinks, fans, liquid cooling systems, and interface materials (PCM) for high speed I/O active cables and optical transceivers and fiber optic cables
Conduct thermal characterization and validation tests, including temperature measurement, and correlation with simulation results
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to integrate thermal solutions into overall product design
Define thermal requirements and design constraints for new products and ensure compliance with reliability and performance specifications
Develop and document thermal models, test reports, and design guidelines for future designs
Participate in design reviews, providing recommendations for improved thermal performance and manufacturability
Support failure analysis and root cause investigations of thermal-related field or qualification issues
Qualification
Required
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years applicable experience
Solid understanding of mechanical and thermal principles, and material properties
Proficiency with thermal simulation tools like FLOTHERM, ANSYS Icepack
Preferred
Knowledge of electronics packaging and reliability requirements (JEDEC, IPC, standards)
Experience in Electronics / Data Center / Telecom: Familiarity with high-power ICs, PCBs, heat spreaders, and airflow management
