Responsibilities

Architect, plan, and deploy highly available, scalable, and secure WAN, LAN, and data center networks using Juniper routers and switches and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
Design, implement, and maintain MPLS core architectures, including L2 and L3 VPNs, traffic engineering, and label distribution protocols
Develop and manage advanced BGP routing policies for multi-homed internet connectivity and inter-AS routing
Lead network design efforts for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with security standards and operational best practices
Design, implement, and optimize Quality of Service policies to ensure reliable performance for latency-sensitive services
Ensure reliable delivery of VoIP services, including integration with session border controllers and gateways
Architect and support network infrastructure for IP video surveillance environments, including camera-to-VMS communication and storage networking
Perform network capacity planning and traffic analysis to forecast bandwidth requirements for high-resolution, continuous video streams
Design and manage VLAN segmentation and network zoning strategies, including PoE and PoE+ power considerations
Configure and manage Juniper SRX and Palo Alto NGFW features, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and application-aware controls
Enforce network security standards, including endpoint authentication where required
Provide Tier 3 and Tier 4 escalation support for complex network incidents, including root cause analysis
Use monitoring and packet analysis tools to troubleshoot advanced network, voice, and video performance issues

Required

10 or more years of progressive network engineering experience, including time in a senior or architect-level role
Deep, hands-on experience with Juniper Junos OS across routers, switches, and firewalls
Expert-level knowledge of BGP, including route filtering, path manipulation, and peering strategies
Extensive experience designing and operating MPLS networks, including LDP, RSVP-TE, and VPN services
Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and centralized management platforms
Proven background supporting networks that carry high-volume, real-time traffic such as VoIP and IP video
Experience working in government or public-sector network environments
Ability to work onsite full-time and collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
