Responsibilities
Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and refine business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Analyze business processes to ensure requirements align with InsuranceNow’s native capabilities and best practices, preventing unnecessary customization
Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, process flows, and configuration documentation for development teams
Ensure all requirements are feasible within the InsuranceNow ecosystem and advise the business on system constraints, impacts, or alternatives
Configure and validate functionality directly within the InsuranceNow platform as needed, including updates, workflow adjustments, or data mapping
Support InsuranceNow migrations and onboarding of new business lines, leveraging experience in platform transitions and integrations
Participate in end-to-end testing, including test case creation, execution, defect triage, and validation of system behavior
Work closely with developers, QA, architects, and product owners to ensure design questions are addressed and requirements are accurately implemented
Serve as the bridge between business users and technical teams throughout the SDLC, ensuring clarity, alignment, and on-time delivery
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
Troubleshoot and analyze issues, performing root cause analysis and driving resolution with the appropriate technical teams
Monitor system integration points, data quality, workflows, and performance to ensure optimal operation
Recommend improvements to existing processes, leveraging system capabilities to drive efficiency and reduce operational friction
Qualification
Required
4–8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role within P&C insurance
Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceNow and familiarity with platform migrations or upgrades
Strong understanding of P&C insurance workflows (underwriting, policy admin, claims, billing)
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with both business and technical audiences
Experience working directly with developers, engineers, and QA teams in an Agile environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to simplify complexity and recommend practical solutions
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Preferred
Experience in system configuration or administration within InsuranceNow preferred
Familiarity with data mapping, API integrations, and downstream system impacts
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar
Prior involvement in insurance system modernization, migration from legacy platforms, or multi-line deployments
