Lab Automation Engineer

Crew helps clients deliver change through IT project delivery and operational efficiency efforts. They are seeking a Lab Automation Engineer to enable analytics for biopharmaceutical product development and support method development through automation and management of liquid-handling robots.

Responsibilities

Enable both GxP and non-GxP analytics for biopharmaceutical product development
Support method development and high-throughput testing teams by creating, executing, and documenting business processes and operating procedures for liquid-handling robots
Own onboarding, teaching, volume verification, health monitoring, first-line troubleshooting, vendor liaising, and life-cycle management for a growing fleet of two dozen robots and their peripherals, including controller computers and video surveillance cameras

Required

B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
0-3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic laboratory setting
Attention to detail and highly organized
Good written and verbal communication skills
Interest in scientific equipment, instrumentation, and laboratory automation
Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies — self-motivation and a growth mindset
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to emerging priorities
This is an onsite, hands-on role and must be located in Malvern, PA

Preferred

Experience working in a health-authority regulated environment
Experience operating liquid-handling robots (e.g. Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman)
Familiarity with LIMS and/or Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN)
Familiarity with analytical assays for protein therapeutics and/or cell and gene therapies
Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and/or software issues
Understanding of computer programming concepts and/or knowledge of Python, C#, VB, etc
