Responsibilities
Independently perform experiments using existing, modified, or newly developed techniques/ protocols
Set up protocols using new or modified laboratory techniques and troubleshoot experiments independently
Identify experimental data pertinent to the analysis problem; process, organize, and summarize data; report results
Assist in the drafting and editing of manuscripts, posters, SOPs, and policies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field and related techniques
Provide ongoing support for monitoring, maintenance, ordering, and purchasing equipment and supplies as needed
Independently perform calibration of instruments and equipment as necessary
Expected to routinely provide guidance and training to less-experienced team members and may also train others outside lab in relevant techniques

Qualification
Required
PhD in biology and at least 3 years professional experience in a relevant field
Extensive experience with molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning
Extensive experience with tissue culture and generation of stable cell lines
Experience with and understanding of the principles of fluorescent microscopy and image acquisition
Experience with standard cell biology techniques, including western blotting, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence
Preferred
Extensive experience training students and/or technicians in standard laboratory techniques is preferred
Background in immune responses to infectious diseases or cancer is preferred
