Senior Consolidation Accountant - Temporary Position
Rio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company. The Senior Consolidation Accountant will be responsible for performing monthly accounting activities, supporting standardization and process improvement initiatives, and managing intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities
Execute and maintain the Rio Tinto Lithium Consolidation tool (BPC)
Support reorganizational activity by reconfiguring the BPC tool
Support the integration of the Rio Tinto Lithium financials within the Rio Tinto parent’s Consolidation tool (Tagetik) and within Rio Tinto’s reporting processes
Implement and manage process improvement projects to accelerate the consolidation timeline
Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions throughout the month and provide best practices and guidance to business units
Maintain ownership of BPC and Tagetik topsides
Promptly respond to requests from internal stakeholders
Support internal and external audit activities
Ensure compliance with IFRS and Rio Tinto Lithium’s policies, procedures and internal control environment
Proactively take ownership of workload and escalate issues timely
Proactively monitor and achieve deadlines, and communicate instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion
Assist with the creation and delivery of training programs and content (as needed) for internal stakeholders
Qualification
Required
A four-year degree in Accounting or Finance required
3-5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference toward time spent in public accounting (CPA is a plus)
Experience working with an ERP system and consolidation tool (preferably an SAP tool)
Exposure to process improvement activities and project management a plus
Experience in a publicly traded or global organization using IFRS a plus
Inquisitive nature, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Driven self-starter with strong organizational skills
Knowledge and understanding of IFRS
System skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP FI, BPC Consolidation, Tagetik Consolidation
Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment
Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
Attention to detail, but also ability to see and articulate the 'bigger picture'
Preferred
Exposure to process improvement activities and project management a plus
Experience in a publicly traded or global organization using IFRS a plus
