Responsibilities
Provide expert electrical engineering support to Operations and Projects, including troubleshooting, design reviews, incident investigations, and failure analysis
Support electrical power systems, large electric motors and drive systems, process controllers, HMIs, communications networks, and related instrumentation
Participate in risk assessments, electrical hazard assessments, and Arc Flash analysis; support implementation of electrical safety standards and safe‑work procedures
Provide guidance on equipment specifications, installation practices, maintenance strategies, and design standards
Lead or contribute to engineering standards, specifications, and procedures—ensuring consistent application across the organization
Serve as the escalation point for complex or systemic technical problems; identify risks and improvement opportunities
Research emerging technologies and represent Enbridge on industry committees
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the Electrical Community of Practice to share best practices and enhance collaboration
Communicate technical recommendations clearly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational requirements, cost considerations, and regulatory expectations
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 15 years of operating plant experience, ideally in oil & gas or petrochemical environments
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, API, NFPA)
Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally to field sites
Preferred
Experience supporting gas transmission pipelines
Detailed knowledge of CSA Z462, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584
Familiarity with ETAP software
Experience with electrical safety programs, pipeline/powerline mitigation, and major motor/drive systems
Background working with Solar or GE gas turbine electrical systems
Prior project management or design experience on compression station electrical systems
