The Senior Counsel, General Legal, is responsible for providing legal advice to Carrier’s Residential HVAC business, negotiating contracts, managing claims processes, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies.

Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel and service on broad range of areas to Carrier’s North America Residential Solutions business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations to ensure that corporate interests are well-represented
Negotiate contracts with suppliers, customers, and strategic partners related to Carrier-offerings and ensure compliance with Carrier’s overall strategy and policies
Support strategic, forward-looking projects related to technology, regulatory, and go-to-market
Manage claims processes, prelitigation matters, and dispute resolution
Coordinate with internal Centers of Excellence to provide full-scale legal support for business
Advise business on compliance risks and assist in closing compliance gaps by providing practical training and implementing corporate policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate from accredited US law school
Bar Admission in any US state
6 + years of law firm experience or in-house corporate/commercial experience
Preferred
Experience in contracts, commercial litigation, technology, or corporate law
Experience advising in manufacturing/technology, including factory and supply chain
Excellent written and communication skills
Consultative, strategic, and solution-focused business partner with a growth mindset
Ability to resolve conflict in a business-oriented approach with ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
