Human Resources Director
SealX is a fast‑growing janitorial services company based in the greater Seattle area, delivering reliable, high‑quality cleaning solutions to commercial clients across the state of Washington. The Director of Human Resources leads the company’s HR function and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, overseeing all HR operations and building scalable HR systems to support growth across Washington State and future expansion into additional states.
Responsibilities
Leads the HR function and provides strategic guidance to the CEO and leadership team
Develops HR strategies, policies, and programs that support company growth and operational excellence
Oversees two direct reports (HR & Operations Specialist, Safety & Quality Specialist), providing coaching, development, and performance feedback
Builds scalable HR processes to support multi‑site and multi‑state operations
Oversees the design, administration, and communication of compensation and benefits programs
Ensures pay practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with Washington State and federal regulations
Partners with leadership to develop salary structures, job levels, and annual merit processes
Oversees full‑cycle recruiting for field and corporate roles
Partners with operations leaders to forecast staffing needs and ensure adequate coverage for client contracts
Strengthens employer branding and talent pipelines, particularly for high‑volume janitorial roles
Serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers, addressing concerns with fairness and consistency
Promotes a positive, inclusive workplace culture across dispersed worksites
Supports employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including Washington’s complex labor regulations
Ensures compliance with OSHA, WISHA, and client‑specific safety requirements
Develops and maintains HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates
Oversees benefits administration, leave management, and HRIS accuracy
Prepares HR metrics and reports for leadership
Qualification
Required
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
Experience supporting hourly, dispersed, or field‑based workforces
Strong knowledge of Washington State employment laws
Demonstrated ability to build HR systems, processes, and policies
Experience handling employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and performance management
Ability to lead and develop a small team
Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
Experience in janitorial, facilities services, construction, or other labor‑intensive industries
Multi‑state HR experience
Bilingual in Spanish
