Director, Logistics Network Design and Distribution Strategy (Remote)

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive global and regional logistics network strategies, encompassing transportation and warehousing
Lead data collection, scenario planning, and risk assessments to inform network design decisions
Create and execute implementation roadmaps aligned with enterprise goals and business unit needs
Define and categorize distribution locations based on business requirements and regional dynamics
Conduct cost modeling and make strategic recommendations on insourcing vs. outsourcing
Design warehouse layouts and flows, optimizing storage, configuration, and throughput using standardized methodologies
Evaluate emerging logistics technologies and assess their applicability to RTX’s operations
Lead the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance distribution and transportation performance
Conduct in-depth regional assessments to understand logistical challenges, regulatory environments, and market opportunities
Develop tailored logistics solutions and financial models that align with strategic objectives and business unit requirements
Influence and drive change across multiple businesses, functions and geographies
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of logistics and sourcing professionals across multiple business units
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Serve as a key liaison between logistics, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership
Ability to travel up to 20%

Required

Typically requires a University Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience Bachelor's degree in advanced degree preferred
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Outstanding ability to engage and develop high performing teams driving not only analytical skills but also innovation in design while driving speed of execution
Demonstrated experience in logistics network design and execution via internal or external network modeling expertise
Experience in implementations of logistics network transformations (including automation, consolidations and growth enablement)
Proven experience managing cross-functional and cross-business unit teams
Extensive change-management experience
