Responsibilities
Answers incoming phone calls and assists walk-in customers by providing general information, responding to questions, and directing inquiries related to departmental procedures, policies, and services
Enters invoices and requisitions into accounts payable and requisitions systems
Files, copies, and scans various documents and reports
Sets up and maintains files within established filing systems
Performs data entry with accuracy and attention to detail
Prepares door hangers for construction notices, scheduled water outages and other departmental notifications
Collects and distributes incoming mail
Conducts monthly janitorial supply inventory and reports stock levels as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must maintain a level of mental and physical fitness required to perform the essential functions of this classification
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality
Must be currently enrolled in college courses
Ability to complete work with a high attention to quality and detail
Ability to work with and protect confidential information
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to foster a collaborative environment with department personnel, City of Kennewick staff and customers
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Benefits
Eligible for Washington State Paid Sick Leave to accrue 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
