Responsibilities
Leverage SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC) and Migration Object Modeler (LTMOM) to configure, customize, and execute predefined and custom migration objects for master data and transactional data
Develop complex data transformation logic using ABAP to map QAD data structures to SAP S/4HANA data models, handling business partner conversions, material master transformations, and financial data conversions
Implement data validation routines, reconciliation reports, and error handling mechanisms to ensure data quality and completeness throughout the migration process
Excellent knowledge of templates used to load data into SAP S/4 HANA
Transform data extracted from snowflake into SAP-compatible formats, and load into SAP S/4HANA staging tables
Design, develop, and execute ABAP programs for data extraction from QAD Enterprise Applications and load into SAP S/4HANA using BAPIs, IDocs, Direct Input, and batch input methods
Understanding of Snowflake which will be used as central staging and transformation platform
Research and recommend optimal SAP data migration approaches (staging tables vs. direct transfer vs. template/file-based) based on data volume, complexity, and business requirements
Map and load data from snowflake into SAP S4/HANA templates, load these templates with data into SAP S/4 HANA using migration cockpit
With help from Neptune team analyze QAD data structures (Progress OpenEdge database) and create comprehensive data mapping documents that detail field-level transformations between QAD and SAP S/4HANA
Develop technical specifications for custom ABAP programs, including functional specifications for BAPIs, function modules, and data upload programs required for complex migration scenarios
Help with data profiling and quality assessment to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and cleansing requirements in source QAD data
Execute multiple migration cycles (mock loads, rehearsals, production cutover) ensuring iterative testing and validation of data accuracy and completeness
Develop and execute SQL-based reconciliation scripts comparing source QAD data with target SAP S/4HANA data to verify record counts, financial balances, and business logic
Create comprehensive migration documentation including technical design documents, data mapping specifications, ABAP program documentation, and runbooks for production cutover
Provide post-migration support to resolve data-related issues, implement corrections, and ensure business users can operate effectively in the new SAP S/4HANA environment
Participate in agile team ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives throughout the migration project lifecycle
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of hands-on ABAP programming experience with proven expertise in developing data migration programs, Migration Cockpit, BAPIs, IDocs, batch input programs, and LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench)
3+ years of experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, specifically in data migration activities using Migration Cockpit (LTMC), Migration Object Modeler (LTMOM), and SAP Data Services
Demonstrated experience migrating data from legacy ERP systems (QAD, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or similar) to SAP S/4HANA with successful production go-lives
Strong data analysis background with the ability to understand complex source and target data models, perform data profiling, and design comprehensive field-level mapping specifications
Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred) and AWS services for building scalable ETL pipelines and data staging environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and develop creative solutions under tight deadlines
Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including SAP functional consultants, database administrators, QAD specialists, and business stakeholders
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams in a fast-paced migration project environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to document technical designs, present migration status, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently as an individual contributor while also functioning effectively as part of a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality results on time and within scope, with strong accountability and ownership of assigned migration workstreams

SAP Certified Technology Specialist - SAP S/4HANA Conversion and SAP System Upgrade (E_S4HCON2020) highly preferred
SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP with SAP NetWeaver or SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP for SAP HANA (E_HANAAW_18) highly preferred
Completion of SAP training course S4D445 - Data Migration using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit preferred
Direct experience with QAD-to-SAP migration projects including understanding of QAD-specific challenges such as multi-site configurations, QAD Financials to SAP FI/CO conversions, and QAD MRP to SAP PP/MM transitions
Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud (public or private edition) migration requirements and cloud-specific data migration constraints
Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain business processes including discrete manufacturing, process industries, make-to-order, and configure-to-order scenarios
Experience with SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) for real-time data replication and change data capture (CDC) scenarios
Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for extending SAP S/4HANA and building custom data integration scenarios
Experience with data migration testing tools, test automation frameworks, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for SAP migrations
Knowledge of water utility industry-specific requirements, metering operations, and utility billing processes that may impact data migration strategies
