Responsibilities

This role sits at the intersection of research and enablement, and it is ideal for someone who has is considerable appreciation for a wide range of scientific disciplines, thrives on explaining complex concepts, is highly collaborative, and enjoys devising creative solutions to difficult problems
As a Quantum Algorithm Research Intern, you will work closely with quantum researchers
In this role, you will provide support in advancing quantum computing research as applied to a variety of domain sciences
This role will give you the necessary exposure and experience to our team across multiple ecosystems
You must be passionate not only for technology but also for working collaboratively on projects and delivering high quality results
The ideal candidate must also possess communication skills appropriate for engaging scientists and the ability to elucidate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Qualification

Required

Strong background in physics, chemistry, computer science or similar
Demonstrated proficiency in Python and Qiskit SDK
Understanding of common quantum algorithms
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to disseminate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred

General knowledge of superconducting qubits
Familiarity with quantum error suppression and mitigation techniques
Practical experience executing workloads on IBM quantum devices
Familiarity with limitations of classical computing
Publication(s) in the area of quantum computational science
