Responsibilities
Perform extensive research identified through Accounts Receivable (AR) account reconciliations to resolve outstanding balances, discrepancies, and open items
Conduct detailed and thorough reviews of customer account activity to determine appropriate disposition and corrective actions
Review, analyze, and resolve AR credits and unapplied receipts in accordance with established financial policies and procedures
Review aging AR reports to assist in determining the appropriate disposition of reserves and identifying potential risk areas
Assist with Bad Debt account reconciliation and support related reporting and documentation requirements
Monitor the AR Inquiries mailbox to ensure customer and internal requests are addressed accurately and within required service-level timelines
Serve as backup support for:
SmartBenefits billing and account management activities
Monthly journal entry preparation and submission
Funds Management–related billing processes
Identify and flag customer IDs that do not receive Dunning letters and coordinate corrective actions as needed
Maintain accurate documentation of research findings, resolutions, and account updates
Collaborate with finance, billing, and customer service teams to resolve complex account issues and improve AR processes
Qualification
Required
Experience in Accounts Receivable, financial reconciliation, or related accounting functions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct detailed financial research
Familiarity with AR aging reports, credits, unapplied cash, bad debt, and billing processes
Proficiency with financial systems, spreadsheets, and email-based inquiry tracking
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
