Responsibilities
Proficient use of inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, protractors, pin gauges, etc
Proficient operation of milling machine, grinders, and other shop equipment
Shine and polish tools, verifying bearing condition and squareness
Assemble dies and tooling for extrusion operations in prescribed manner
After extrusion, disassemble tool stack, moving tooling to storage area, and dies to caustic area
Process dies and tools through the caustic and cleaning areas, determining dies which require repair, polished or just storage
Nitride dies and tools as prescribed
Inspect incoming dies for compliance to design tolerances and Company requirements
Analysis of extrusion and die performance data, leading to the correction or change in die to improve die performance
Maintain documentation on repairs of all dies and tools through the use of digital cameras, scanned document, word documents and Epics
Complete paperwork on a daily basis in a legible manner
Follow all job related work instructions
Qualification
Required

Less than high school education; or up to 4 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
Responsible for understanding, comprehending and implementing company procedures
Accurately read a tape measure and other measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers) while measuring product
Must maintain a great deal of accuracy involving identifying damaged product prior to shipment to customer
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Employee must have the ability to perform the majority of the work while standing 100% of the time
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat
The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud
Must be able to perform work while in restricted/confined areas
