Responsibilities
Be able to independently and systematically break down, visualize and communicate automated machinery's safety circuitry and programming
Accurately determine if machines meet safety regulatory requirements
For non-conforming equipment, the candidate will be required to identify current safety category for each asset
This individual will be able to visualize non-conformance using CAD, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
Will also be able to engineer corrective measures that address non-conforming equipment. This includes related safety circuit wiring as well as safety plc logic
Required to manage and visualize project status as well as verbally communicate status, timelines for completion and problem feedback
Will also be required to be "hands on" with equipment. Often requiring flexibility, climbing and a level of agility required for someone doing discovery on automated machinery
This individual will be an expert level PLC programmer, Safety PLC programmer, fluent in creating CAD documents for technical illustration, and machine troubleshooter
Will have a strong understanding and experience with safety devices, components and wiring. This would include safety relays, scanners, light curtains, drives with integral safety, estops, gate switches, etc
Qualification
Required
Years of experience in developing safety control systems in accordance with modern safety standards such as CMSE, TÜV FSE, and relative ISO standards
Experience working on the regulatory and training side of relevant standards
Ability to independently and systematically break down, visualize and communicate automated machinery's safety circuitry and programming
Ability to accurately determine if machines meet safety regulatory requirements
Ability to identify current safety category for each asset for non-conforming equipment
