Senior Quality Systems Engineer

The Senior Quality Systems Engineer will ensure product integrity by executing the product quality architecture strategy and lead measurement system analysis to enhance quality processes at contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities
Ensure product integrity by the execution of the product quality architecture strategy
Lead or facilitate measurement system analysis for CTQ at either contract manufacturer location or remotely
Calculate process capability by use of extensive and meaningful data from contract manufacturer’s process
Create and execute action plans to address deficiencies found at contract manufacturers measurement systems
Create and execute action plans to address CTQ process capabilities under capability targets
Capture and analyze data related to performance indicators for internal/external process, regarding Quality and service
Perform Quality Systems, Process and Product Audits, using applicable Quality Standards and specifications– to ensure that processes comply with Corning Quality Requirements
Lead customer notification investigation determining root causes and implementing and/or coordinating the implementation of effective corrective/preventive actions that protect customer and the business
Support customer audits
Establish, track and achieve Quality metrics; Strong analytical skills
Lead/manage projects/improvement events
Support and improve existing Supplier Management programs through mentoring, training offerings, and dynamic idea generation
Collaborate with the various Corning Outsource and Contract Manufacturing Managers to eliminate waste and therefore eliminate risk
Provide periodic progress updates on execution of the roadmap
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of science in engineering (preferred electrical, mechanical, industrial, measurement and control)
5+ years progressively responsible roles in technology, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or quality
Proven experience achieving significant improvements through others
Deep knowledge in Lean methodologies (Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Kaizen Events, and Error-proofing)
Deep knowledge of PQA methodologies
Deep knowledge in New Product Introductions
Preferred
Certified DMAIC Green Belt
Certified DMAIC Black Belt
Experience in leading projects involving multiple groups (e.g. Technology, Manufacturing, Division Engineering, PLM, Customer Experience, Freight Forwarder, etc.)
Experience in identifying systemic issues from multiple months/years of data
Experience in training others on problem solving methods
Knowledge of ERP/QMS platforms (SAP, ETQ, SharePoint, Windchill)
Languages: English – A must; Spanish - Desirable
Travel: Up to 25% domestic and international
