CDL Technician

Augusta Industrial Services, Inc. is an Employee Owned company seeking a CDL Technician responsible for safely driving and towing vehicles and equipment to job sites. Responsibilities

Operate light and heavy equipment to include, but not limited to, pumps, vacuum equipment, hydro blasting equipment, forklifts, man lifts, jackhammers, and other light and heavy equipment
Perform activities to include, but not limited to, clean-up of chemical and water spills, tank cleaning, boiler cleaning, equipment decontamination, and other duties as assigned
Perform vehicle inspections, equipment inspections and Health & Safety inspections
Perform strenuous physical labor to include lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects
Ensures proper use of equipment and immediately notifies supervisor of any mechanical failures and/or problems with equipment
Ensure Health and Safety regulations are met at all jobsites, to include drop yards
Maintain professional appearance and demeanor while on jobsites and in uniform
Maintain quick and immediate response when on call
Ability to complete associated paperwork, to include but not limited to, daily worksheets, manifests, disposal documentation, vehicle inspections, equipment inspections, and Health and Safety requirements and permits

Required

Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B or A) endorsement
Maintaining a valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), and pass a DOT medical physical, drug screening, and criminal history check
Attention to detail and multi-task abilities
Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Willingness to travel if necessary (typically within a 4-hour driving distance or less)
Ability to work with little supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work
Understands equipment required to complete assignments
Complete, AIS provided, training for confined space entry (CSE) and 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER
Ability to withstand strenuous physical exertion
Ability to spend considerable amounts of time standing, walking, climbing, hoisting, and bending over
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, tanks, and other containers
Ability to lift 50-75lb
Ability to work in an environment with potentially elevated noise levels and confined spaces
Ability to work in a foul-smelling environment through an 8-12 hour shift
Ability to work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic or corrosive
Ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to withstand shifts that typically, but not always, exceed 8 hours
Ability, during emergency response situations, withstand shifts that may extend beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hours

Preferred

Construction field or industrial / environmental related experience is a plus
Strong mechanical ability is preferred
Knowledge of chemicals preferred
