BAS Controls Technician

Certified Control Systems is an energy solutions provider that has been dedicated to designing easy-to-use building automation systems for over 35 years. They are seeking a BAS Controls Technician responsible for commissioning and maintaining customer systems that use pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technology, while ensuring positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities

Implement the startup, commission, and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic / electrical / electronic technology
Maintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in Visio, Excel, Word, as required
Responsible for calibration of systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer
Implement static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming
Set-up of operator workstations with all associated software
Manage process of turnover to service
Track and record job progress and keep lead project personnel informed on progress
Keep project management apprised of concerns and issues
Complete paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation and project status reports
End to end testing, programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects and accounts
Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer's location
Coordinates with Controls manager, project managers, and customers to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, updating issues, gathering materials and synchronizing onsite work
Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets
Maintain project related documentation including but not limited to commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-builts and status reports
Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, subcontractors, and other trade contractors
Anticipate and be able to meet short and/or unpredictable deadlines
Perform necessary point to point check-out, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, electric and pneumatic controls
Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers
Efficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel
Consult with Project Manager regarding scope additions and deductions, priorities and deadlines
Review contract documents and reconcile with RFIs, and project correspondence regarding approved additional scope to determine what scope should and should not be executed and confirm with the Project Manager
Assist with job commissioning, start-up procedures and owner training if necessary
Prepares sketches showing as-built location of wiring and equipment
Attend project meetings as necessary
Ability to work overtime, varied shift hours and occasional travel as needed
Effectively able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisor and crew members
Work independently and as a team member

Required

5 Years of experience with electrical experience (120vac, 24vac, 24vdc and 12vdc) preferably with low voltage control systems, including experience with ladder logic, relay logic, controllers, and field controllable devices
5 Years experience with mechanical systems, including chillers, air handlers, vav systems, boilers, and other mechanical equipment
Start - up of control systems relating to building automation
Commissioning of control systems relating to building automation
Required to be well versed in multiple controls systems as they may be on a different site each day based on the service calls that come in on a daily basis
Maintain a good disposition with the customers and deal with them in a courteous manner at all times
Verify devices, panels, and annunciators of controls projects

Preferred

Experience with the following programs or products Automated Logic, Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls or Alerton products, systems & networks is a plus
