Responsibilities
Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, or optical areas
Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies. Emphasis on catheter systems and braided devices, including long term implants
Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products
Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions
Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports
Reviews or develops processing or manufacturing instructions
Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis
May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance allegations
Indicate the reporting relationships, products, budgets, throughput, level and purpose of contacts (internal and external), or other scope measures that are key to this position
(Influence/Leadership) May provide work direction to other employees in work group
(Planning/Organization) Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones. Establishes priorities of individual or project assignments
(Decision Making/Impact) Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects. Selects methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity, creativity, and a high degree of independent action and initiative. Proposes solutions independently; makes decisions on projects. Develops and implements projects from concept to completion
Qualification
Required
An equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum 4 years of hands-on prototyping experience
Related work experience- Applies extensive knowledge of complex technical concepts and practices, and a complete understanding of product or systems fundamentals in a functional area and working knowledge of other related disciplines
