Accounting Manager
XMONDO HAIR is a company focused on innovative hair care and color products that empower individuality and self-expression. They are seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to oversee the company's accounting operations, cash flow management, and sales tax compliance, while actively improving processes and ensuring financial health.
Responsibilities
Own the monthly close process from start to finish
Prepare and review financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
Identify, book, and explain accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications
Ensure timely, accurate closes with increasing consistency month over month
Maintain close schedules, checklists, and supporting documentation
Own short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting
Monitor daily cash balances and upcoming obligations
Ensure sufficient liquidity for payroll, inventory, and operating needs
Partner with leadership on payment timing, prioritization, and cash planning
Improve visibility and predictability of cash inflows and outflows
Manage bill entry, coding, and payment processing (via Bill.com or similar)
Establish and maintain clear approval workflows
Ensure proper expense classification and accrual timing
Reduce leadership involvement in routine approvals through improved controls
Track inventory balances and ensure monthly reconciliation to the balance sheet
Partner with operations and supply chain to resolve discrepancies
Improve COGS accuracy, inventory valuation, and cost tracking
Support inventory-related analysis and reporting
Own and manage all company insurance programs
Coordinate renewals, audits, certificates of insurance (COIs), and claims
Partner with insurance brokers to ensure appropriate coverage and cost efficiency
Maintain compliance with insurance requirements and reporting obligations
Manage sales tax registrations, filings, and payments across applicable jurisdictions
Partner with external providers or advisors to ensure accurate calculation and timely remittance
Maintain documentation and support audits related to sales tax compliance both domestically and internationally (Canada and UK)
Monitor changes in nexus and compliance requirements as the business grows
Act as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors, and insurance brokers
Support annual tax filings, audits, and special projects
Coordinate information flow between internal teams and external partners
Qualification
Required
5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience owning month-end close in a small-to-mid-sized company
Strong understanding of accrual accounting
Hands-on experience with inventory and cost accounting
Experience overseeing payroll, insurance, and sales tax compliance
Comfort working across multiple entities
Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Digits, Blue Onion, Fathom, or similar
Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
