Responsibilities
Supervise clinical laboratory technicians/technologists and laboratory assistants in the accessioning, processing, testing, and result review of clinical laboratory specimens
Provide backup for testing personnel in the laboratory
Prepare department for CAP and other inspections
Perform required quality assurance and compliance tasks
Participate in other projects and perform other duties as needed
Responsible for the overall performance of the clinical laboratory departments
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the field of clinical laboratory testing (chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, and blood bank) required
Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies, instrumentation, and quality control procedures
Preferred
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school in Clinical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology or related, preferred
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) from a recognized certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT), preferred
Experience with Beckman-Coulter Instrumentation, preferred
