AMI Operations Analyst

Responsibilities

Analyze the configuration of AMI electric and water meters, communication networks, and data collection systems
Monitor and assess technical issues with AMI networks, data transmission, and system performance, ensuring reliability
Identify system problems and initiate work requests to field workers or contact vendor to resolve them
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data, ensuring accurate and timely meter readings for billing and reporting
Create dashboards to visualize key metrics
Provide support and insight for internal teams including AMI personnel, meter technicians, and billing
Collaborate with Information Services, Engineering, Field Operations, and Customer Service teams to address AMI system concerns
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the AMI system and its related business processes
Analyze AMI performance data and assist with reports
Work with vendors and contractors to implement software updates, repairs, and new technology
Collaborate with Information Services, vendors, and contractors to plan, implement, and support software updates, repairs, and new technology implementations
Support storm response with AMI data. Summarize AMI alarms for field troubleshooting
Analyze endpoint and network alarms to identify and have abnormal conditions repaired

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Utility Management, Public Administration or related field; or the equivalent combination of related education and experience
Experience in the utility operations, metering or customer billing
Familiarity with Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Radio Frequency communication networks, utility billing or operational systems, and data analytics
Understanding of electricity and water distribution systems and related metering technologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization tools and basic query tools
Exceptional communication skills
Business acumen
Ability to drive measurable improvements through data-informed decision making
